How the calculator works
We calculate where the Moon was along the zodiac at the moment you were born, using the same astronomy as professional software. Your birthplace sets the time zone, including any daylight saving time in force that day.
The Moon moves fast, about 13 degrees a day, and changes sign roughly every two and a half days. If you leave out your birth time, the calculator checks the whole day and tells you if the Moon changed sign on your birthday.
What your Moon sign means
Your Sun sign is the part of you that shines; your Moon sign is the part that feels. Astrologers read it for your emotional needs, your instincts, what comforts you, and how you behave at home and with the people closest to you.
That is why two people with the same Sun sign can feel so different: one Leo with a Cancer Moon and another with an Aquarius Moon handle feelings in very different ways.

Do I need my birth time to find my Moon sign?
Not always. On most days the Moon stays in one sign, so the date and place are enough. On a day when it changes sign, your birth time decides which sign is yours, and the calculator tells you when that is the case.
How often does the Moon change sign?
About every two and a half days. It passes through all twelve signs in roughly 27 days.
Is the Moon sign more important than the Sun sign?
Neither is more important. Most astrologers read the Sun, the Moon and the rising sign together as the core of a chart, often called the big three.
Is my data stored?
